Nexus 4 sells out - Know Your Cell

The Nexus 4?went on sale this morning in the United States and United Kingdom and the latest Google flagship phone sold out rather quickly.?

The Nexus 4 is being made by LG and it packs a 4.7-inch display with a 1280 x 768 resolution, 2GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel camera, Bluetooth and almost everything else you'd expect from a super phone. The only thing it lacks is 4G LTE.?

I tried to buy the Nexus 4 from the Play Store?this morning and it was an awful experience. I'm sure it was being hit with a lot of traffic but I expect Google to be able to handle such Web demand. The site was slow, buggy and extremely frustrating.?

I'd try and add the Nexus 4 to my shopping cart and I'd be hit with an error or an empty shopping cart. When I did get it in my cart, it would show two or three devices in there. When I tried to switch it to just a single Nexus 4, I'd be hit with an error.

I wanted the Nexus 4 with 16GB but it was sold out after a few go-rounds trying to buy it. I was a little discouraged but decided the 8GB was good enough -- but was then hit with multiple errors trying to add that one to my cart as well.?

I finally got one Nexus 4 in my cart and was ready to hit the "Proceed" button to pay and then got hit with yet another error telling me to try again later. A few minutes later, the 8GB model was also sold out. I tried my hardest to give Google my money but it just wasn't meant to be.?

It's tough to know how universal the demand for the Nexus 4 is, as the Nexus lineup hasn't sold that many units in the past, so I'd blame a supply problem for this snafu. Still, it's a good sign for Google that there's so much interest in its latest Android showcase phone.?
